Description and History: The World War II Veterans Memorial, consisting of a bronze plaque mounted on a large boulder, was erected in 1946 by the Penfield Civic Association, and early and active neighborhood civic group in Haverford Township. When you stand at the stone marker and look across Old Manoa Road, you are looking at the site of the 19th century Cedar Grove Mills. This small kink in Manoa Road was straightened in the early twentieth century, creating “Old” Manoa Road as a vestige.
